Painter Janoš Mesaroš was born on January 30, 1943. in Novi Bečej. He started painting in 1970. when he joined the group "Selo". The paintings of Janos Mesaros cannot leave anyone indifferent. This world-renowned artist, lover of horses and life in the Pannonian plain, is a very prolific painter. He had, around the world, about 270 solo exhibitions where he presented himself with more than 7,000 paintings! Janoš Mesaroš only recognized the painter in himself when, due to a severe spine injury, he was forced to leave playing professional football. It was in 1969 when he was 26 years old. Oxford included him, because of his exceptional accomplishments and achievements in the field of art and painting, in its book of famous and recognized citizens of Serbia. Today he lives, works and creates in Belgrade.
At the end of the seventies and the beginning of the eighties of the twentieth century, specific motifs of Vojvodina landscapes appear in Mesaroš's paintings, in which certain "snippets" of the plain, like flying carpets, rise into the sky. Those fragments of fertile, grassy, flowery soil, in the painting, take on the appearance of a kind of symbol of "pure", separated and preserved original beauty of nature. In an unusual and poetic way, Janos Mesaroš paints and describes the plains of Vojvodina.
